Andy Anderson was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina. A 1989 graduate of Columbia High School and 1995 graduate (B.A. – History) of Erskine College, Andy was able to experience many interesting things post-Erskine. He had a role in two Hollywood movie productions (Renaissance Man, starring Danny DeVito and Mark Wahlberg; and Ace Ventura 2, starring Jim Carrey); was a morning-show sidekick for KLOU-FM radio in St. Louis, Missouri; and spent time as a Seminary Student at Covenant Seminary in St. Louis from 1997-2000.
Returning to Columbia in 2001, Andy would spend a few years traveling to spots around the globe such as the Ukraine, China, and France. The last country mentioned, France, came about because of a growing friendship with a Professor of French at the University of South Carolina – Dr. Lara Lomicka – who would ultimately be the love of his life. Married in 2004, Andy would return to the University of South Carolina to complete a Masters of Mass Communication just a few weeks after his wedding date. Two years later, and two days after graduating with his Masters degree, the couple’s first child would be born.
Andy currently lives in Columbia, on the campus of the University of South Carolina, with his wife and two daughters – Maleah and Ashlyn – as well as their 3 cats. He is grateful for the opportunity to lead the Alumni of his Alma Mater as the Coordinator of Alumni Relations and Communications.
