Sallie Best is originally from Charleston, SC but has resided and worked in Columbia following receiving her degree from the University of South Carolina in 2016. Sallie received her Bachelors of Arts in Theatre with a minor in Education. During her time at U of SC, Sallie worked as an educator and the Homeschool Coordinator at the South Carolina State Museum, creating and implementing STEAM and SC Standards based curriculum for classes and summer camps until 2017. Following graduation, Sallie began working with Columbia Children’s Theatre as an artistic associate, creating and implementing SC Standards based curriculum for residencies, after school programs and summer camps. Sallie also coordinates CCT’s school performances and creates SC Standards based arts integration curriculum for teachers to use when visiting the theatre. Sallie began working with Midlands Arts Conservatory in 2018 as at Theatre Instructor and moved into the role of Arts Coordinator in 2019 where she coordinates the Guest Artists series, Arts performances, and helps create Arts Integration curriculum. Sallie is currently enrolled with EducationCloset to receive her Arts Integration Specialist Certification in December of 2019.
